Mabuhay! My name is Chris and I would like to welcome you to It’s More Yum In The Philippines!
Growing up I have always had a passion for food. My parents encouraged me to experiment in the kitchen and I was cooking food from around the globe at an early age. I even got my first paid job as a dish washer in a nearby restaurant! Although that did only lasted 2 weeks before I decided I much prefer to cook and eat rather than clean up the mess afterwards!
My journey with Filipino cuisine started in 2013 when I travelled to Manila for work, and since then I can’t get enough of the unique combination of sweet (tamis), sour (asim), and salty (alat) flavours.
While Filipino food is some of the most delicious and interesting food I have tried, it is also one of the most underrated.
This is where It’s More Yum In The Philippines comes in. Originally starting out as Nagluluto Si Chris, but renamed to better capture the spirit and purpose of my blog, here you will find delicious recipes, stunning photography, resources and stories so you too can journey into the world of Filipino cuisine and discover what it is all about. I’m out to prove It’s Really More Yum In The Philippines!
I travel frequently throughout the Philippines and those of you already familiar with some Filipino dishes may notice that what I cook has an Ilocano influence as this is the region where I spend the majority of my time.
When you don’t find me travelling around the Philippines I am in my home town of Melbourne, Australia or travelling somewhere else throughout Asia.
